Rod’s Restoration Wizards LLC

At the age of 12, Rodney Black started working with his uncle, know by many as a local hobbyist. At the age of 16, while in high school, Rod had purchased and started to restore his first car which he still has today, a 1969 Camaro. At the age of 18, he started working at Restoration Wizards and there the love of all things automotive and custom was born.

At the same location since 1984, Restoration Wizards has been providing quality restorations for many years. In the fall of 1993 as a senior in high school Rod was in the co-op program he started working at the shop. All the while he was in process of restoring his '69 Camaro. By the age of 21 Rod had been nominated and won the Dupont Top Gun Award for best paint, among a number of other top awards for cars that he had had the pleasure of working on.

One of the first street rods that he had built at the shop was a 1939 Ford Coupe, which in 1999 was picked by Big Daddy Don Garlits for "His Favorite Ford Coupe Award."

In October of 2010 Rod Purchased Restoration Wizards and renamed it to Rod's Restoration Wizards LLC. Wanting to keep the same small town feel and providing quality repairs to all of his customers. Since becoming owner, Rod is outgrowing the 2,400 sq. ft. facility he has called home for so many years and is now in the process of adding on to the existing building to make it over 5,000 sq. ft. to better separate the collision from the restoration side of the business.

Another great achievement was in 2012 as a member of the International Street Car Association Rod won the ISCA International Class Champion for Altered Roadster Pickup, a 1930 Model A Roadster Pickup as seen in the picture above.

Another great achievement for Rod's Restoration Wizards, in 2011 they were picked at The Shop Show,"Top 12 Award" for Featured Vehicle in Automobile Restoration and then again in 2015.
