General information

CarBuff Network is designed to help companies get recognized for their work.  A company profile let's you promote brands that you trust and use.  Endorsements help leverage key relationships that often go unnoticed by the general public.

 

Vehicle type is separated into 4 categories.

  • American
  • Asian
  • Australian
  • European

 

Markets: 16 market categories

Some of these categories will overlap.  Profile administrators choose the markets that represent the typ .

  • Automobilia: Any historical artifacts or collectible linked with motor cars and related areas, such as motor racing and motorsport. In common usage the term is taken to specifically exclude fully or partially complete vehicles, although componentry may be termed automobilia if its ownership is primarily for memento value rather than for practical use.
  • Big Rig: A large vehicle that consists of a towing engine, known as a tractor or truck, usually attached to one or more semi-trailers to carry freight.
  • Classic & Antique: These vehicles are in original or originally restored condition.  A Classic is any vehicle built after 1939, an Antique is any vehicle built prior to 1940.
  • Driven Daily: A vehicle driven regularly: to work, school, shopping, errands, etc.
  • Muscle Car: 2-door sports coupes with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving.” A large V8 engine is fitted in a 2-door, rear wheel drive, family-style car designed for four or more passengers. Sold at an affordable price, muscle cars are intended for mainly street use and occasional drag racing.
  • Off Road: Any type of vehicle which is capable of driving off a paved or gravel surface.  It is generally characterized by having large tires with deep, open treads, a flexible suspension, or even tracks.
  • Performance: An automobile that is designed and constructed specifically for speed. The design and construction of a performance vehicle involves not only providing a capable powertrain but also providing the handling and braking systems to support it.
  • Pro-Touring: A style of classic muscle car with enhanced suspension components, brake system, drive train, and aesthetics, including many of the amenities of a new performance car.
  • Racing: A motorsport involving the racing of automobiles for competition.
  • Radio Controlled: A self-powered model car or truck that can be controlled from a distance using a specialized transmitter.
  • Replica / Kit: Also known as a “component car”, the replica or kit car is an automobile that is available as a set of parts that a manufacturer sells and the buyer then either assembles into a car themselves, or retains a third party to do part or all of the work on their behalf. Usually, many of the major mechanical systems such as the engine and transmission are sourced from donor vehicles or purchased from other vendors new. Kits vary in completeness ranging from as little as a book of plans to a complete set with all components included.
  • Rod & ustom: A Custom is a vehicle that has been altered from the manufacturer’s original design or has a body constructed from materials not original to the vehicle.  A Hot Rod or Street Rod is a vehicle that was manufactured before 1949; or after 1948 to resemble a vehicle manufactured before 1949; and that has been altered from the manufacturer’s original design, or has a body constructed from materials not original to the vehicle.
  • RV: A motor vehicle or trailer equipped with living space and amenities found in a home.
  • Sports Car: A small, usually two seat, two door automobile designed for performance and nimble handling.
  • Supercar: Fast, Expensive and very limited production.  Performance is the primary concern in design and engineering.
  • Trailer: Towed by a vehicle and used for the transportation of property.

What does a company profile cost?

Enthusiast accounts are free and Pro account pricing is listed under the “Join the Network” tab.

 

What profile to register for?

Enthusiast accounts: Set up and enthusiast build and link to the brands involved.  Follow your favorite brands to get the most current information by downloading the CarBuff Network app.

Pro accounts:  Validation by company builds, endorsements, dealer status, featured projects.  Social media produces a lot of unnecessary clutter, CarBuff Pro accounts help serious businesses to cut through the clutter by linking companies to the vehicles they are involved with and to other companies they trust by endorsement.

 

Why charge a fee for Pro accounts?

A nominal account fee for Pro accounts allows CarBuff Network to build a sustainable website.

 

How do I Start a profile?

Click “Join The Network” and choose either Pro or Enthusiast account

 

Do I need to register to post a project?

Yes, Enthusiast profiles can post Enthusiast projects.  Pro accounts can post Pro-builds and link back to the company profile.

How does the Dashboard work?

The Dashboard includes the following:

  • Edit company profile
  • Edit user profile info
  • Edit billing
  • Add/edit projects
  • Add/edit events
  • CBN Toolkit (download CarBuff social media icons, CarBuff Logo, press release copy)
  • Manage incoming endorsements, dealer status, featured builds, email notifications

 

What is a "Dealer status request"?

This can either be sent to notify a manufacturer that as their dealer you would like to be set up with dealer status or you can send this as an inquiry into becoming a dealer.

 

Why isn’t the system taking my photos?

  • Enthusiast build: 10 gallery images
  • Premier company projects: 40 gallery images
  • Basic company projects: 20 gallery images
  • Manufacturer, Service, Event and Organization profiles: 16 gallery images

 

If your images are not loading they may need to be resized.  The ideal image size is 150 kilobytes.

If you do not currently use a photo editing program, we suggest using Pixlr Express, a free service online for sizing photos.

  1. Go to Pixlr Express and select the browse icon
  2. Select a photo you would like to resize.
  3. Click on Adjustment, resize to 800 for width
  4. Save and rename to identify which one has been resized…the quality should be as close to 150 kilobytes as possible
  5. save again and close

 

Why doesn’t my address show on the map?

If it doesn’t show up either the address portion on your profile is not filled in or there is an error in the address.  Map does not show P.O. Box addresses.

 

Branding with CarBuff

Key relationships are critical to any company’s marketing strategy.  Being endorsed or getting listed as a dealer on CarBuff Network may put you in front of your next customer.

 

How do I download the CarBuff social media icon or logo?

These are located in the “Toolkit” on the Pro account dashboard.

 

How to send a “Dealer status request”?

This is located in the endorsement section when editing your company profile.

 

How to share a profile on social media?

Click one of the social media icons in the “Share this profile” section of any profile.

 

How do I endorse a company not involved with CarBuff Network?

“If you don’t see a brand you would like to connect with, send them an invitation: Send Invite” located on your log in dashboard.
