SOUTHFIELD, MI, September 16, 2019 –The recent Goodguys West Coast Nationals Show presented by BASF at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, Calif., showcased a long list of award-winning cars, including the crowned “America’s Most Beautiful Street Rod.”

George Poteet’s “Three Penny” 1936 Ford roadster built by the team at Pinkee’s Rod Shop stole the show as the Goodguys Most Beautiful Street Rod presented by BASF.

Earlier this year, the roadster was also awarded the America’s Most Beautiful Roadster trophy at the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, Calif.

Other finalists for America’s Most Beautiful Street Rod were:

  • 1932 Ford 3 Window owned by Oscar Gamble
  • 1931 Ford Vickie owned by Tim Hughes
  • 1932 Ford owned by Lynn and Randy Potter, built by Streamline Custom Designs
  • 1932 Ford 5 Window owned by Rich & Bev Stapf, originally built by SoCal Speed Shop – Pomona & Pete Chapouris; recently redone by Jerry Sanders Hot Rods.

In addition, the 1968 Ford “Corrupt” Mustang built by AL Hot Rods won the Builder’s Choice Award, along with Steve Aguilar’s 1971 Camaro Z28 which won the Meguiar’s Magnificent Masterpiece Award. Both vehicles were painted using Glasurit 90 Line.

“We are excited to sponsor the West Coast Nationals and reward these talented individuals for their outstanding work,” said Tina Nelles, BASF Marketing Services Manager. “Events like these allow our customers to show the world why they choose our paint, not just tell. I am extremely proud of each winner this year.”
